Numerous Historic Sites Close due to Tropical Storm Ida

Numerous historic sites in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana have closed due to the approach of Tropical Storm Ida.

Included among these are all Gulf Islands National Seashore (including Fort Massachussetts, Fort Pickens, Fort Barrancas, Naval Live Oaks Preserve, etc.), Eden Gardens State Park in Florida and numerous other historic points of interest along the Gulf Coast. In Louisiana, the Chalmette Battlefield and most other areas of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve are closed.

If you are planning a trip to the Gulf Coast this week, please be careful and make sure to check with your intended destinations.
